Baseball starts off season with tough games

Wins over Gap and Page, Drop close games with Madison and clarke

The Mountain View Generals varsity baseball team started their season off with a big 10-4 win over Buffalo Gap at Rebel Park on March 18th. The Generals collected a combined 10 hits, including 2 each from Jaden Click, Hunter Rinker, Seth Moomaw, Dawson Moomaw, and Adrian Chaparro-Vann.


On Tuesday, the Generals lost a tough game 7-4 hosting Madison County. The Generals collected only 5 hits, with Hunter Rinker contributing a 2 RBI single in the first inning.


On Friday, the Generals dropped a game with a final score of 5-2 at Clarke County. The Generals had only 3 hits, one of which was a double from Ethan Bly in the 7th. Jaden Click had a 2 RBI single in the 5th inning, along with a double.


The following Tuesday, the Generals won a tough game over Page County with a final score of 7-4. Dawson Moomaw had 3 triples and he scored 2 runs. Hunter Rinker contributed 2 singles and an RBI, and Lance Rhodes had a double, single, and RBI.


JV Baseball has started the season by winning 2 out of its first 4 decisions.


The team opened with a tough 7-4 loss to Buffalo Gap, but bounced back to win 11-0 over Madison Co. and then followed up with a 4-3 win over Clarke. On Wednesday, the JV Generals lost to Page County 17-5.

Generals do well in 12 team meet

The boys and girls track teams competed last Saturday in the Ram Invitational held in Strasburg last weekend. The meet featured 12 schools from various levels. The following is a list of Generals who placed.

The boys’ team placed 4th and the girls’ team placed 11th


Ashton Hilton placed 9th in the boys’ 1600-meter run


Stuart Pirtle placed 7th in the boys' High Jump, 3rd in the boys' Long Jump, 1st in the boys' triple jump, 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles, and 2nd in the 110-meter hurdles.


Jacob Lemon placed 5th in the boys' 100-meter dash, 6th in the boys' 200-meter dash


Sam Lutz placed 14th in the boys’ 200-meter dash


Wyatt Fleming placed 20th in Discus


Levi Riffey placed 21st in the boys’ 800-meter run


Nate Farmer placed 13th in the boys’ 800-meter run

Tennis wins a pair of matches against Page

Generals off to a fast start

Mountain View's varsity girls tennis team defeated Page Co. twice to open the season. On March 21, the Generals defeated Page Co. 7-2. The Generals won 5 of the 6 singles matches and won 2 of the 3 doubles to secure the victory. Here are the results.

Girls Soccer Evens Record

Generals battling Bull Run foes

Our girls soccer team stands at 2-2 after their first four contests. The team opened the season with an 8-0 win over Page Co. on March 21. The Generals were led by Annika Dellinger with 5 goals. Kezia Despirito added 2 goals and 2 assists. Ayvah Wolverton had a goal. Hannah Whitaker and Maddie Hoover each had an assist.


The team then battled Madison Co. but came up short in a 3-2 loss. Despirito and Dellinger each had a goal. The Generals faced a tough task against the defending Class 2 State Champion Clarke Co. The Generals fell 9-0.


The team bounced back with a 7-0 victory in a rematch vs. Page Co. The Generals were led by Annika Dellinger with 4 goals. Madison Wright had a goal and 3 assist. Madison Poole and Maddie Hoover each had a goal.

Boys Soccer Picks up win

Generals win at home

The boys soccer team picked up their first win after dropping the first two matches of the year.

The Generals dropped a 4-1 decision to Madison Co. on March 22. The second match was a tough 9-0 loss to Clarke Co. on March 25. The Generals bounced back and picked up a victory on March 29 against Page Co. with a 6-0 victory.

The JV boys team dropped two matches to start the season. The JV Generals lost an 18-0 decision to Clarke Co. and lost 4-3 score against Page Co.

Softball opens the season

JV Team picks up huge win at Madison co.

The varsity softball team has started with 4 straight losses but the team has shown strong improvement.


The Generals started their season with a tough 12-0 loss to Buffalo Gap at home on March 18.

The Generals then lost on March 22 by a score of 11-0 to Madison Co. also at home.

On March 25, the Generals traveled to Clarke Co. where they lost 13-0. Bre Franklin had a single to lead the Generals. The Generals hosted Page Co. on March 29 dropping a 23-3 decision. The Generals were led by Amy Hedrick with a triple and Bre Franklin with a single.


The JV team has started out with one win and 3 losses. The Generals opened the season with a 19-3 loss to Buffalo Gap. The Generals then went to Madison Co. and picked up a victory in a high-scoring game with a 33-27 score. The Generals then lost to Clarke Co. by a score of 11-5. The JV Generals dropped their home opener to Page Co. 17-0.
