Boys cross country runner Ethan Bly and girls cross country runner Jordyn Foster both qualified for the State Cross Country Championship this Saturday by finishing in 15th place in their respective races.

Bly was the only boy from our team competing in the Region 2B meet held at the Central High School course and ran a time of 17:58 to capture the last spot available for the boys. Bly has qualified for the state meet three of his four years running cross country. Foster lead our girls' team to a fifth-place finish. She finished in 15th position with a time of 22:13.

Bly and Foster will compete in the VHSL Championship next Saturday, November 13 in Salem. The girls' race is at 1 PM and the boys' race is at 1:45 PM.

Golfer Emily Racer was chosen as this weeks WHSV's Student-Athlete of the week. Racer completed her stellar golf career at MVHS earlier this fall. Students compete for the weekly award from the entire WHSV viewing area which encompasses over 20 schools.
