The Generals were led by Andrew Wymer with an 82. Henry Buhl finished with an 83. The Generals and Mountaineers both advanced to the State Tournament held at the Olde Mill Golf Resort in Laurel Fork.

The Generals didn't have their best day at the State Tournament and finished in 8th place. The Generals were led by Andrew Wymer with a 95 and Braxton Biller with a 99. Floyd County won the State title with a team score of 326. It was still a great season for the Generals and Coach Brady Kibler. The VHSL State Tournament results page is linked below.

Generals golf has been a state powerhouse for decades

Generals have been State champs 9 times

On Monday our Golf team traveled to the Olde Mill Golf Resort in Laurel Fork and competed once again in the VHSL State Golf Championship. Our golf program is easily the most decorated program at the school with an amazing 9 State titles and 8 Runner-up finishes. We’ve also had 5 individual champions and 4 runner-ups. I thought this would be a great time to recognize the teams as we wish our current team the best of luck as we compete today.

One of the interesting things is that some of the championships on the banner are when we won and others are the graduation year that we won. It’s all messed up, but I am using the years from the VHSL handbooks and the yearbooks I was able to find. Legendary Coach Bob Crantz was the coach for 6 state titles and Brownie Ritenour for 3.
