Boys Basketball Drops Opener to Buffalo Gap

Hasley leads Generals

On Wednesday, the MVHS boys basketball team finally got to open their season as they faced off against Buffalo Gap. After playing a hard and tough first half MVHS went down 24-37. The second half was pretty low-scoring but at the end of the game Buffalo Gap came out on top. The final score being MVHS 35 - Gap 58. The Generals were led by Johnny Hasley with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Michael Spaur added 9 points and 6 rebounds and Evan Estep added 8 points for the Generals.


The team returns to action tonight (December 10) hosting rival Central High School.

Girls Basketball Drops Back-to-Back Games Against Gobblers

Franklin leads Generals

The Generals girl’s basketball team played Broadway High School in back-to-back games on December 3 at home and December 8 at Broadway. The Generals dropped both games, with the first game ending with a final score of 48-44. Bre Franklin led the team with 16 points, followed by Annika Dellinger with 11, and Mya Councill with 9. Dellinger also contributed 14 rebounds and Councill collected 9.


In the second game on Wednesday, Broadway won the tight game with a score of 46-41. Despite having a 35-30 lead in the 3rd quarter, Broadway scored 16 points in the 4th to win the game. Bre Franklin contributed 11 points, followed by Annika Dellinger with 10, and Alicia Bare and Mya Councill with 8. Dellinger and Bare both collected 10 rebounds.


The Generals finish the week with a road game against rival Central High School tonight.



Wrestling opens with dual meet at Staunton

Lemon, Biller, and Rinker go 2-0

The Generals opened up their season with a dual meet against Grace Christian School and Staunton High School on December 8. The Generals opened up with a limited roster and didn’t have all the weight classes filled. Jesse Lemon, Braxton Biller, and Hunter Rinker finished the night 2-0 for the Generals.

The Generals will be in action tonight at Skyline High School starting at 5 PM and on Saturday, December 11 at the Skyline High School Invitational. The invitational will start at 11 AM.



Swim Team Opens the season Saturday against Broadway

Swim meet at Signal Knob

The Generals swim team will open their season on Saturday, December 11 at the Signal Knob Recreation Center in Strasburg. The meet will start at 4:30 PM.

The Generals next meet will be on Saturday, December 18 at Signal Knob Recreation Center against Turner Ashby High School. That meet will start at 6 PM.
