Girls Basketball Starts the 21-22 Season

Generals split first two games

The Mountain View Generals kicked off their girls basketball season on November 30th with a win at Buffalo Gap. Junior Annika Dellinger led Mountain View with 11 points, closely followed by Alicia Bare with 9. Dellinger led the team with 15 rebounds and Bare added 14. Mya Councill contributed 5 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists and Bre Franklin added 7 points and 4 rebounds for the Generals. Mountain View had a lead through most of the game, but Gap closed that lead in the 4th quarter and tied it up at 35 with 2 minutes left. With 7 seconds left in the game, Bare put back a missed shot to give the Generals a 37-35 win.


The Generals suffered a tough loss to defending VHSL Class 2 State Champions on Thursday. The Luray Bulldogs defeated the Generals 63-23. Alicia Bare led the team with 8 points and she also collected 6 rebounds. Many other Generals contributed as well.


The Generals finish off a three-game week to start the season with a home game against Broadway tonight.


The JV Generals started off the season with tough losses to Buffalo Gap 27-7 and Luray 47-8.

Boys basketball season has delayed start

Buffalo Gap and Luray games to be rescheduled

The Mountain View General’s boys basketball game on Tuesday, November 30 was canceled due to Buffalo Gap’s football team advancing to the Region Championship. The Generals also missed Thursday’s game vs. Luray due to COVID protocols. They hope to get their season started next week with a home game against Buffalo Gap.
