Wrestling competes at Skyline Invitational and Fishburne

Generals at Home next week

Our Wrestling team dropped matches at the Skyline Invitational and a meet with Fishburne Military, Charlottesville, and Western Albermarle held at Fishburne.

The young team returns to action on Monday with home matches against East Rockingham and Page County.

Girls Basketball Wins over East Rock

Drops Hard fought game to central and William Monroe

The Generals girls basketball team lost 2 out 3 games on the week.

On Friday, the Generals played county rival Central in a tight game. The Falcons pulled in way in the final minutes of the game. The Generals were led by Mya Councill with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Bre Franklin added 9 points and 7 rebounds.

On Tuesday, the Generals faced East Rockingham in a Bull Run District battle. The Generals pulled away in the fourth quarter to win 48-35. Senior Maddie Hoover led the Generals with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Councill almost contributed a triple double with 9 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals. Annika Dellinger added 8 points and 8 rebounds, while Alicia Bare had 8 points and 8 rebounds. Franklin added 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.

On Wednesday, the Generals played a very talented William Monroe team. The Green Dragons pulled away in the second half. The Generals were led by Franklin with 10 points, Councill with 9, Dellinger with 7, and Bare with 5.

The JV team lost all 3 games during the week. The Generals finish the week with a home game against Buffalo Gap on Friday.

Boys Basketball Loses 3 Games

Generals face tough opponents

The Generals boys basketball team dropped 3 games to tough opponents during the week.

Last Friday, the Generals took on county rival Central. The Falcons won the game 65-33. The Generals were led by Johnny Hasley with 14 points. Michael Spaur added 9 points and Dawson Moomaw chipped in with 6.

On Tuesday the Generals traveled to State runner-up East Rockingham. The Eagles won 78-38. The Generals were once again led by Hasley with 16 points. The Generals also got contributions from Moomaw (7), Caleb Eaton (6), and Ayden Reynard (5).

On Wednesday, the Generals traveled to William Monroe and were defeated 78-27.

The JV Generals dropped all 3 games during the week.

Both teams finish this week with a Friday game at Buffalo Gap.

Swim team loses close meet with Broadway

Generals fall 58-55 in first meet

The Generals girls swim team lost a close meet to Broadway on Saturday, December 11 at the Signal Knob Rec Center. The Generals fell just 3 points short, with a final score of 58-55 in favor of the Gobblers. The Generals got several outstanding performances.

Destiny Iverson won the 50 free and placed second in the 100 backstroke. Ashlyn Whitman won the 500 free and placed second in the 200 free. Jordyn Foster won the 100 breaststroke. The Generals also won the 200 free relay (Rosa Martin, Naveah Mays, Jadyn Foster, and Jordyn Foster) and the 400 free relay (Jordyn Foster, Jadyn Foster, Destiny Iverson, and Ashlyn Whitman)

The Generals boys swim team dropped an 80-36 decision to the Gobblers. The Generals got first-place finishes from Steven Shelton in the 200 free, Stuart Pirtle in the 50 free, and the 400 free relay team (Stuart Pirtle, Tai Croushore, Ashton Hilton, and Steven Shelton)
