Continuing Students
Making the transition to the next level of study can feel daunting. It may seem that there is more expected of you from your next level of study and that the academic work could be more challenging.
There is lots of support available to help prepare you for the next level of your studies from the Department, the University and the Students’ Union.
Our tips for returning to your studies include:
Complete mandatory Registration tasks
Read Welcome Back communications from the Department to prepare you for returning to your studies
Attend Departmental Welcome Back events in Intro Week. These events aim to help re-introduce you to the Department and key staff, prepare you for what to expect from the next level of your studies, be updated of any changes since the last academic year and provide a refresher of how to access support if you need it. Access University and Students’ Union events and activities in Intro Week
Complete the level up your skills course in advance of each new academic year to prepare for the next level of study and the transition in learning
Meet with your Academic Tutor who will be your point of contact throughout your studies
Continue to build on your assessment feedback and develop your academic skills by meeting with your Academic Tutor and Module Convenors regularly for academic support
