NCEA Level 2 Textiles

Aims

The aim is for students to develop a broad design knowledge that gives them access to design related careers. They learn practical skills as they design and develop their outcome using advanced pattern adaption techniques. They also get first hand exposure to fashion through experiences, such as Emerging Designer, Hokonui Fashion Awards and the Otago Polytechnic Fashion School.

Skills

Through studying Design - Textiles, students are encouraged to be innovative, creative, and to show initiative. They learn teamwork and communication skills and the importance of contributing to the community both socially and economically.

Assessment

Project work; portfolio submission.

Qualification gained

NCEA Level 2 Technology (Textiles) - full course completion a maximum of 20 credits.

Prior knowledge required

NCEA Level 1 Textiles.

Entry into the subject will be considered on an individual basis after consultation with the HoD and the Year Level Dean

91343 2.36 4 Credit Internal Use visual communication to compose a presentation of a design
