NCEA Level 2 Photography

Aims

To develop understanding of the role of photography in historical and contemporary contexts. Students develop analytical and critical thinking skills by viewing and producing a variety of key photographic techniques.

Course Content

Students investigate and use a range of photographic processes and conventions using established practice via analysis of selected artist models. Using digital SLR and studio lighting practice, students develop a range of ideas in the production of a body of individual work submitted for examination.

Assessment

Thematic project work: Internal and external examination.

Full course completion — 20 credits in NCEA Visual Art (Photography) Level 2
