Content

Drama Creation - Select and use dramatic elements, techniques, and conventions in a range of dramatic forms

Drama Performance - Perform and respond to drama making critical judgements about how meaning is created in their own and others work

Drama Creation - Research, evaluate and refine ideas in a range of dramatic forms to develop drama

Drama Perspectives -Investigate the forms and purposes of drama in different historical or contemporary contexts including New Zealand drama

Assessment

A variety of internally assessed standards with one external standard. Performances range in scale with one evening performance (involving a technical and dress rehearsal). A brief portfolio with a variety of evidence is collated to support the devised work. Annotated scripts, character intentions and filmed performances support the other practical work. Live performances are witnessed during the year and analysed in the external examination.

Qualification gained

Full course completion — 18 credits in NCEA Drama Level 1
