SDG 7 is about ensuring that everyone has access to an affordable, modern, sustainable, and a reliable supply of energy. This means giving them enough electricity to reach the national average and to power an adequate amount of appliances. This needs to be affordable - cheap so that anyone can access it - and clean - so that it won't affect the environment. We all chose this SDG because it's very helpful for the environment, and we all use electricity in our daily lives. Many people worldwide don't have the same resources as we do.

Level 1 action
For our first action, we used Canva to make online posters on ways to conserve energy in your house and in your classroom. Our group printed the posters and put them on yellow construction paper - the color of our SDG goal. We went around through the school, and gave every class a poster, showing them ways they can each contribute to conserving energy.
Level 2 action
For our Level 2 Action, we got approved by two companies to volunteer for. Our first company was FSEC or Florida Solar Energy Center, in central Florida. We chose this company because we thought it would be a good idea to volunteer for a company that was researching energy in Florida. This company that we called was happy to let us volunteer and took us to one of their websites that was separate from their main website. This website was called energywhiz.com and the employee led us to virtual projects led by other students in K-12. The lady on the phone told us to post positive comments about the project on their sections. This could be about what we liked, what we found interesting, or what we learned. We posted on about 20 projects total which included some solar cars, energy transfer machines (force and motion project), art with recyclable materials, and a solar cook-off. The second company we got approved for was The Children’s Hunger Project. We chose this company because they were helping get food to kids in brevard and it was related to sustainability. For this company unpacked boxes with food that were shipped in and set them up. We were preparing for other volunteers to come in later and be able to package the food more efficiently into bags to be shipped off later for hungry kids in Brevard. An employee there told us that the Children’s Hunger Project prepares over 3,000 meals every week
Level 3 action - Nikita
For my Level 3 Action, I made infographics for the week and posted it on my mom’s Instagram and Facebook account.

For my Level 3 Action, I decided to make a website about SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy. On my website, I included information about the sustainable development goals and the United Nations, and I listed the SDGs. I also wrote about rural and urban communities, energy usage and efficiency, and the effects of Covid-19 on SDG 7. I also put in some websites you could visit if you wanted more info. I decided to create a website because I’d had some experience in them before on google sites. I was also having trouble finding a project, so I decided to do something challenging but fun.

Level 3 action - Sofia
For my level 3 action, I decided to write a newspaper article about SDG 7 and the UN and I posted it so that it would be somewhere forever and would 100% get uploaded. I chose an article originally because I like writing them, and I created a newspaper for my first free learn project and it was very interesting. Also, my article is bright because if you are scrolling on Facebook you are more likely to look at it because it pops out. The reason why I had SDG 7 on top of SDGs 8 & 9 ( decent work and economic growth and industry, innovation, and infrastructure) because both of them would be closer to completion if SDG 7 was completed. Lastly, the global goals are there because the SDGs are long-lasting.
