Hello, we are SDG #3 Good Health and Well Being. We all have this SDG because we are super interested in the topic. This project is helping us dig deeper into big world problems then find solutions. Our goal aims to achieve universal healthcare for all and we want to help make that happen. We can’t wait to show the world what we have to offer.
SDG 3 works to ensure health and well-being for people around the world. This SDG includes a bold commitment to end the epidemics of communicable diseases by 2030. This SDG also aims towards achieving universal health coverage and providing access to safe and effective medicines and vaccines for all.
Central Idea
Healthcare systems and human well-being are affected by society
Lines of Inquiry
An inquiry into how epidemics and pandemics have affected global health over time
An inquiry into the ways to decrease the amount of child death globally
An inquiry into how health services and workers have impacted society
Level 1 action
For our Level 1 action we made tissue boxes and gave one to each class. Each individual tissue box had 3 stickers and 2 facts about our SDG on the side of the tissue box. Even filled with real tissue boxes inside!
Level 2 action
For our Level 2 action we volunteered at the children’s hunger project to pack for children in our community who need it! Malnourishment can lead to health problems and we wanted to take action. This was a really fun experience and we helped kids in our community! In total we packed enough bags to feed 610 kids!
Level 3 action- Reena
For my level 3 action I wrote an article about my SDG and it was published in the cocoa beach explorer magazine. The article explains what the sdgs are, info about my SDG, how to take action, and a little bit about our IB curriculum . I love writing so this was a really fun experience getting to write an article and get it published!
Level 3 action- Caroline
For my level three action I made a chalk themed YouTube video about SDG 3. It was about SDG 3 and the targets of the SDG. I posted it on Facebook and Instagram. In the video I was drawing with chalk and then I was explaining what I drew.
Level 3 action- Tyler
For my level 3 action, I made a video that I posted on Facebook and youtube. The video was about global health issues.
