A helping hand to to stamp out POVERTY!
James, Meehan, Avah, Aimen
SDG 1 is No Poverty.
Poverty is when someone is living on 1 dollar and 90 cents a day. When in poverty you do not have access to basic services, don't have enough food to eat, and more. We chose this SDG because when we saw people in poverty, we had urge to help so we chose the SDG that ends poverty. If this SDG isn't solved, many more SDGs will become a bigger problem.
The UN has hoped to end poverty in all forms and aspects by 2030. SDG 1 is a big factor of every other SDG and could possibly end it.
Central Idea
Poverty impacts the overall health of people and their contribution to today’s society.

An inquiry into the factors that contribute to the increase and decrease of poverty in a society
An inquiry into the effect of poverty on different aspects of people's lives
An inquiry into the relationships between poverty and health
Level 1 action
For our level 1 action, we gave a speech in every class about our SDG and what we are doing in our school about poverty, and how we were collecting food for the Lutheran church food drive then we later gave it away.
Level 2 action
For our level 2 action, we went to a food pantry in Palm Beach. They taught us all about what they do, they rented a bus where they let people in poverty sleep and eat so they don’t go and do bad things. Then donated some food to them. We went to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry
Level 3- Meehan
For our level 3 action Meehan made bracelets that are the colors of SDG 1 and distribute them to people to raise awareness about poverty. I will be giving them to people in bags, and in the bag, there will be a note that talks about poverty and how you can help. I went with Peyton to Friday Fest and handed them out.
Level 3- James
For James' level 3 action he got donations from my community and collected items for hygiene kits. I put the kits together and delivered them to the Dignity Bus.
Level 3- Avah
Then Avah wrote up an article that explains the SDGs, MDGs, the UN, No Poverty, and what I and my group have learned so far. I will be putting this article on one of my Mom’s social media platforms.
