Have your money ready when you reach the cashier. Paper money should be unfolded.
Once a lunch choice has been selected, it cannot be exchanged.
No food deliveries from outside vendors are allowed. Students returning to school after being dismissed earlier in the day with a "fast food lunch" must eat it in an administrative office.
Leave condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise) on the designated table.
Keep tables clean for the next group, regardless of the source of the trash.
All food and drinks must be consumed in the cafeteria. Unopened items may be taken out if stored in a lunch box or bag.
The cafeteria management may adjust prices and menu offerings during the school year as needed.
Free and reduced-rate lunches are non-transferable and can only be used by the student to whom they were issued.
Students are not allowed to "charge" lunches.
Enter the cafeteria quietly and in an orderly fashion. No running is allowed.
Remain in your seat unless given permission to get up to return your tray or dispose of trash.
Keep noise levels reasonable; avoid shouting or other disruptive behavior.
Help maintain a clean environment by keeping the tables and floor free of trash.
When dismissed, leave the cafeteria quietly and return to your classroom in an orderly manner. Please keep noise to a minimum in the hallways, as classes will be in session. No running is allowed.
No electronic devices are permitted in the cafeteria.
Students are not permitted to assign seats to others or change seats without permission.
Sharing food with others is not allowed.
Offer vs. Serve
Students shall not be required to accept foods which they do not intend to consume. At least three (3) of the five (5) food items offered constitute a lunch. The price is the same whether the student takes three (3) or five (5) components.
Food Service
The Department of Food Services encourages a healthy lifestyle by providing meals and snack that contribute to learning about wise food choices. Menus offer a variety of choices from all areas of the Food Guide Pyramid and meet all federal guidelines.
A nutritious lunch is offered at all five schools, along with a breakfast and kindergarten milk program for students who attend half day kindergarten.
Seymour Schools participate in the federally funded National School Lunch Program. Therefore meals are offered at reduced or no cost to students whose families qualify financially and have completed a Free and Reduced Application. Applications are sent home on the first day of school or you can contact the school directly for an application at any time during the year.
