Honor Roll
The Honor Roll is determined quarterly and is based upon the report card for each of the four marking periods. All core classes and Unified Arts classes are included when calculating the Honor Roll status.
Honor Roll distinctions are as follows;
High Honors: All "A's" but no more than one B or B+ in any class for that quarter.
Honors: All grades ranging "B-" or higher.
Reporting Student Progress
1. Communication between home and school is essential.
2. No student should receive any grade below “C-“ on a report card without prior parental notification.
3. Any report grade below a “C-” must be accompanied by a comment, which identifies the reason for the low grade.
4. Each marking period, all students should receive one report card comment per teacher.
Updating PowerSchool Gradebook
1. A minimum of 8 grades must be entered into PowerSchool each marking period, with at least 4 coming from major assessments. What constitutes a major assessment will be determined by the department in consultation with building administration.
2. By the midpoint of each marking period, a minimum of 4 grades must be entered, with at least 2 grades coming from major assessments.
3. Daily homework cannot count more than 10% of each final marking period grade.
4. No more than 1 major grade plus 1 minor grade can be entered into PowerSchool after grades close for a marking period.
5. To ensure timely feedback and awareness, all collected assignments should be graded and entered into PowerSchool within two weeks of collection.
6. Grade books must be set up with a specific percent for each assessment component (weighted categories for term, weighted terms for year). No “total point” systems.
7. Considering that #1-6 are minimum expectations, consistency must be established within each department and approved by the appropriate administrator.
