Seymour High School encourages parents to confer with teachers. Conferences between educators and parents serve to improve the effective delivery of the educational programs to the students enrolled in the school. In order to facilitate this communication, there is a scheduled parent conference date held just after the issuance of the first report card. The purpose of this conference is for educators and parents to communicate on the nature of the educational programs at Seymour High School and the student’s individual progress within those programs.
In addition to the scheduled conference, parents are encouraged to call teachers as soon as a concern arises or whenever necessary to discuss a student’s progress or to obtain information. Parents may make appointments for a conference at any point in the school year with a teacher or other staff member. These appointments can be scheduled by calling the teacher or the student’s counselor.
