Need to know who can give you a ride?
Peninsula Rides provides information about transportation options to people with mobility challenges so they can get around in and beyond San Mateo County.

Public Transportation / Bus Pass
These agencies will help with the following (you will need to ASK!)
FREE Bus Pass
Learning how to use the Bus
Learning to ride the bus to specific locations.
DOR will pay for a bus pass
DOR VR (Adult) Services will Provide funds in the amount of a monthly Bus Pass to use for college, vocational training, employment, and job search.
Can contract with another agency to teach you how to ride the bus and/or which buses to take to arrive at a destination.
You do not have to pay them back.
GGRC will pay for a bus pass
GGRC has eligibility requirements.
Will provide funds in the amount of a monthly bus pass for use in daily living (e.g. college, vocational training, employment, job search, recreation, or other daily living).
Will only provide funds if no longer eligible for DOR services.

DOR Can help you get to your destination
If you are nervous about reading maps, DOR VR (Adult) Services can contract with another agency to teach you how to drive to a destination as long as it is related to employment, job training, college or job search.
Paratransit
Typically only available to individuals who have a disability that prevents them from using SamTrans Bus service.
The service is free, but the fare is usually discounted.
