How to find the right Adult program for you?
Discuss with your family what is important for your life after high school. Is it working? Learning new things? Socializing with others? Being out in the neighborhood and community?
Discuss these values with your GGRC counselor. Ask your GGRC counselors for programs that could fulfill these preferences.
Ask GGRC to arrange meetings/tours with agencies they suggest.
Attend Visits/tours arranged by the district (ask your transition specialist or job developer)
Attend San Mateo County's Transition To Independence Fair in October to meet representatives of these agencies and hear current participant's stories about what it's like after high school. (Click here for website)
