Most teachers use Google Classroom as the primary way of sharing information including class materials, assignments, and assessments. You will also turn in much of your work through Google Classroom.

GMAIL

All students get an email account provided to them by the District. Your email address will be your username followed by @my.sduhsd.net

Students will use their email accounts to communicate with teachers.

You can find out more information about your email account by clicking here.

(Helpful hint: students often get the letters jumbled when it comes to the second half of their email address. Please make sure you have typed them in correctly).

GOOGLE DOCS

Google Docs logo

This is the most commonly used program in the District. You can use Google Docs to write homework assignments and collaborate on group projects. Click the icon on the left for more information.

Recommended For: Written projects such as essays, scripts, and notes.

Helpful Hint: if you intend on using visual aids in your work, such as pictures or photographs, consider using Google Slides instead. It's easier and looks better.

GOOGLE SHEETS

Use Google Sheets to compile data into lists and spreadsheets. Click the icon on the left for further information.

Recommended For: Lists, spreadsheets, organization.

Helpful Hint: you probably won't need to use this much this year; just be aware that it exists and is available to you if necessary.

GOOGLE SLIDES

Google Slides logo

Use Google Slides to make presentations and visually appealing pieces of work. It is highly recommended if your main aim is producing something that looks good. Click the icon on the left for more information.

Recommended For: Posters, displays, and all work with a visual focus.

Helpful Hint: trying to put pictures and photographs into Google Docs can be a real pain. Using Google Slides is much easier.

GOOGLE DRIVE

Google Drive logo

Google Drive is an online folder used to store your work. You can access your Google Drive from any computer/digital device provided you enter your correct username and password.

Helpful Hint: you will keep the same Google Drive account all the way through to the end of high school. Try to keep your account organized.

GOOGLE MEET

Google Meet logo

Google Meet is used to facilitate live video chats with your teachers/classes. It allows you to participate in classes from a remote location.
