CREATING SHEETS

Click Column A and hold 'Shift'. You can now use your left and right arrow buttons to select the number of columns you would like to use. Now, any changes you make to Column A will repeat throughout the highlighted part of your document. Use this to center your text, select a font size, and make sure your columns are the same size.

Note: you can repeat this trick by clicking Row 1 and holding 'Shift'.

APPEARANCE

Using colors and borders can make your tables look much sharper.

Use the technique listed above to highlight the section of the table you would like to use. Click 'Fill Color' to select a background color. Click 'Borders' to draw black lines between the cells of your Sheet.

NEAT TRICKS

FREEZING: Go to 'View' and select 'Freeze'. This will allow you to make sure your top data row remains at the top of the page no matter how far you scroll down.

COUNTING: Use your mouse to highlight any row of numbers. Sheets will automatically add them up and provide the total in the bottom-right of the screen.
