Barbara (Barbie) Ward

BARBARA WARD has 29 years experience working for San Diego Community Colllege Emeritus Program. She has taught body dynamics and Health 525 at a variety of campus locations. Before COVID, her employment with Scripps Center for Executive Health lasted 25 years as lead Massage Therapist for which she holds a National Certificate and California. Her BBA is from National University.

A natural athlete found her teaching tennis and swimming. Her most popular classes were her water aerobic where she had quite the following before COVID. Barbara also worked with Alzheimer patients for years with great success, collaborating with the activity director implementing music and arthritic exercises for enhanced health.

Her love of dance had her teaching line dancing and aerobic dance. Her greatest achievement designing her Fit for Life movement program for 55 and older. This unique class has breath with movement stretch, circuit movement, light weights, floor exercises, floor stretch and meditation. She does it all!

When you don’t find Barbara exercising and staying fit playing Pickleball, Swimming, Golfing or hiking you will find her riding her 1,200 lb. horse “Beau”.

With enthusiasm and kind heart I am sure you will enjoy staying fit with our “Barbie”.
