Sharon Hinckley

About:

Sharon Hinckley developed an interest in Art at a young age.  She did a large mural in crayon on the Living Room Wall at the age of 4.  She was sent to bed without her supper.  Fortunately most of the critics have been kinder since then, and she kept right on Painting.  Watercolor is her chosen Medium.

She has had more than 50 one woman shows, including exhibitions at the Rosicrucian Museum in San Jose, California and the National Museum of History in Taipei, Taiwan. She authored a book on Watercolor painting; Watercolor Basics: Painting Flowers. Her work is included in private and Corporate collections in America and abroad.  She currently teaches Watercolor Painting classes Online via ZOOM for the San Diego College of Continuing Education, and Oasis.

In 1999, Sharon became a Yoga teacher.  She loves to explore.  Her travels have included six trips to India and one to Nepal.  As it turns out, the Japanese word for Western Painting is “Yoga” ~ apparently Sharon has been doing one form or other of “Yoga” all her life

During the “Great Recession” of 2008, Sharon turned her eye to photography . . . for 8 years she published the La Jolla Calendar.  She welcomes the occasional head shot or photo shoot. ❤

Not only does Sharon enjoy talking to the trees.  She loves to paint them too !!
