Individual Learning CentRE

SD 63 Individual Learning Centres

Standard Curriculum, Different Approach

The Individual Learning Centres  offer opportunities for students to complete their secondary school education in a different way.  Students receive high quality academic courses within flexible scheduling and and a smaller, more intimate setting. Students receive one-on-one assistance from experienced teaching staff and learn at an individualized pace.  The graduation program is tailored to each student’s needs.  ILC also offers topical seminars and presentations, which can provide certification for future employment (i.e. Super Host, Food Safe, First Aid) and Planning 10 credit. We also offer a wide variety of Work Experience and Dual Credit Career Courses in partnership with Camosun College and Vancouver Island University.

Students attend SD63 Individual Learning Centres for a variety of reasons:

Students may begin courses anytime throughout the school year, and they may continue to take some courses at their neighbourhood school by cross-enrolling. There is sometimes a waiting list for admission so we encourage those interested to fill out an application and submit it to ILC. Please see a Stelly's Counsellor for more information on academic course timelines and the possibility of being a ‘shared’ student.
