Careers Grad Requirements
The Ministry of Education requires 8 credits to be completed under the BC Graduation Program.
Graduating Students of 2028 or Later (Careers 10, Careers 11, and Capstone 12 Path)
For students graduating in 2028 or later, Stelly’s has now shifted from CLE 10 and CLC 12 to Careers in grades 10, 11 and 12.
Careers 10: (2 credits)
This course will automatically be added to student timetables in addition to the 8 in-timetable courses. Students will attend 8 seminars with 8 Google Classroom assignments throughout the year.
Careers 11: (4 credits)
This course is an in-timetable, 4 credit course. It provides students with the knowledge and tools to begin crafting their life today and for the years ahead. This course helps students to explore a range of life pathways, focus on their own health and wellness, and understand the importance of mentors and networking. In the second half of the course, students will transition to planning and preparing their graduation year.
Capstone 12: (2 credits)
This course will automatically be added to student timetables in addition to their selected courses. Capstone is a 2 credit, out-of-timetable course that provides students with the knowledge, skills and processes to complete their Capstone project. The Capstone is a rigorous learning opportunity designed so that students can share successes both in and out of school, including their reflections on Core Competency development, their contributions and aspirations, and possibly their plans for post-graduation. The Capstone is a requirement for graduation. It includes these three components:
1. Self assessment and critical analysis
2. Design, assembly and sharing of Capstone
3. Showcase and celebration
In addition, students must demonstrate completion of 30 hours of Career Exploration in one or more of the following areas:
Volunteerism
Employment
Fieldwork Projects
Service Learning
Entrepreneurship
Youth Work in Trades/Work Experience 12
Project of Deep Interest
Graduating Students of 2026 & 2027 (CLE 10 and CLC 12)
*Please Note: Students must have already taken Career Life Education 10 (CLE) in order to meet graduation requirements. If you have not completed CLE 10 (4 credits), please see a counselor immediately.
CLC 12/Capstone: (4 credits)
Career Life Connections 12 is for 2026 and 2027 graduates only. It provides students with the knowledge and tools to begin crafting their life today and for the years ahead. This course helps students to explore a range of life pathways, focus on their own health and wellness, and understand the importance of mentors and networking. In the second half of the course, students will transition to planning and preparing their graduation Capstone project which will be presented at the end of the course.
In addition, students must demonstrate completion of 30 hours of Career Exploration in one or more of the following areas:

myBlueprint is an online resource used in Careers for students and parents/guardians throughout the province to help navigate the curricular and post-secondary needs. This includes creating a curriculum-vitae, cover letter, self assessments, and researching post-secondary options. All students and parents/guardians are invited to create their own myBlueprint account.
