Suitable for students with a thorough knowledge of French 10. Includes expanded grammar patterns and conversation practice, as well as a continued study of the past, present and future tenses. The themes will include memories of childhood and advertising. French 11 is the level needed for most university entrance requirements.
An advanced course for those with a good background and thorough knowledge of French 11. Skills emphasized are grammatical accuracy in the writing of French, the ability to understand written French and ability to understand and discuss selections of prose. Students who want to specialize in languages or take an arts degree at the university level are recommended to take this course because it will fulfill the language requirement.
Introductory American Sign Language 11 is a dynamic language course for students in grades 10–12 that focuses on visual communication and Deaf culture. Students learn to communicate using signs, facial expressions, and body movement while developing an understanding of ASL as a complete and living language. This course provides a meaningful and engaging way to learn another language while gaining insight into diverse ways people communicate and connect.
This course will introduce students to the Spanish language and culture through written, oral and audio materials. This course gives students a grasp of basic Spanish reading, writing and speaking and insight into Hispanic cultures.
This course is intended for students who have completed Introductory Spanish and want to further their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. This is a more rigorous course than Intro Spanish, and it meets the second language entrance requirement for most university programs. This course is not intended for students who speak Spanish at home. This course is not intended for Spanish first-language speakers.
SPANISH 12 (MSP-12)
Spanish 12 is an advanced course for those with thorough knowledge of Spanish 11. Students can expect to build on oral communication, writing, and reading comprehension skills developed in Spanish 11, and to further their understanding of Hispanic cultures. Students should be prepared to explore Spanish literature, build an extensive vocabulary, solidify grammatical concepts, and fine-tune conversation skills. This course is not intended for Spanish first-language speakers.
