SEA TO SKY ONLINE SCHOOL (SSO)

Sea to Sky Online School offers online courses for students who:

• need to complete courses for graduation

• want or need to take a course that conflicts with their schedule or that is not offered during the school year

• need flexibility due to intensive sports/arts programs or due to health reasons

• want to gain experience learning in an online environment.

Online courses are an option within the timetable or as an additional course on the student’s own time. Sea to Sky Online offers over 55 different courses in core and elective areas. Courses offer year-round support and continual enrolment. Online courses are self-paced, student-led and include face-to-face/virtual learning with SSO teachers. A suggested guideline is given for students to try and complete a course within a semester, especially if enrolled in an online support block. Students, however, can have up to a year to complete. Students must remain active in their courses and keep in regular contact with their course teacher to avoid withdrawal. If a student is struggling in a class academically, online learning might not be the best option. Please discuss options with your counsellor.

For international students, course enrolment is determined by approval, payment and a condensed schedule.
