Students will explore digital content creation across platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, podcasts, and blogs. They'll learn personal branding, multimedia production, storytelling, and audience engagement strategies. The course covers ethical media practices, basic marketing, and monetization skills. Students will complete individual and group projects and build a digital portfolio. No prior experience needed—just creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to learn!
This course is suited to experienced dancers interested in creating and designing dance pieces. Students will use elements of dance, choreographic structures, and devices to develop compositions.
Dance Foundations is open to all levels, with no experience needed. Students will explore various styles, including Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, and more, while learning technique, choreography, and dance vocabulary. The course includes warm-ups, activities, and optional performance opportunities.
Directing and Script Development 11 introduces students to scriptwriting and directing, requiring an interest in working with actors. Students learn stage terminology, script analysis, stage pictures, and the audition and rehearsal process, along with basics of lighting and sound. They’ll write and edit a 10-minute play for an evening production. In the Grade 12 course, students can focus on either scriptwriting, creating a finished one-act play, or directing, analyzing, and staging a published play.
In this class, students focus on drama as performance art. By participating in formal and informal performances in a variety of settings, students increase their knowledge and develop skills in rehearsal and performance processes. The courses are collaborative in nature, and students learn the skills and attitudes necessary to work within a performance group, including teamwork, adaptability, support and leadership.
This course is perfect for actors, dancers, singers, musicians, set designers, costume designers and tech crew. This group will come together for a common purpose: to put on a great show. Being part of the school production is a high school experience you won't forget. This year-long course starts in September and wraps up with the production dates in late February and early March.
