Verizon Innovative Learning School

VILS Initiative

We became a VILS school during the 2019-2020 school year. This initiative will provide laptops to all JHS 218 students and teachers. Students can take the devices home to continue their learning. Free wifi will be provided so families will not need to worry about their connection to the internet.

STEM LAB Robotics / 3D

STEM Grant

We received this grant at the end of last year and 2019-2020 was the start of our students learning to use the STEM advanced laptops. The STEM lab includes Lego Robotics equipment and several 3D printers. Students just started to use them. They are awesome!

Promethean Boards

RESO_A Grant

We just received this grant! The new Promethean boards will be arriving soon and be installed in every classroom. The boards are like 65" widescreen TVs, but they are interactive! Students and teachers can touch them to write on them and they can display videos and presentations.
