Guidance Counselor

The school guidance counselor provides a wide-range of services to support student growth and achievement.


  • Support students in meeting their social/emotional needs, academic, and career goals

  • Support families, school leaders, and school staff

  • Provide crisis intervention, individual, and group counseling

  • Provide team building and classroom culture development through Restorative Circles

  • Provide conflict resolution sessions through Tier II/III Restorative Practice

  • Assist students with transitioning to high schools





The school guidance counselor works with teachers, administrators and other support staff to identify students' needs.

This may include classroom lessons, short-term counseling (individual and small group), crisis intervention and academic support for students. They help connect families to appropriate local agencies.
