James P. Sinnott's visual arts department seeks to inspire fresh perspectives, provide an understanding of the role of art in contemporary culture, and encourage creativity and authenticity. Refining creative skills enable artists to create more complex design strategies that better communicate messages and develop new aesthetic judgments that support the making and understanding of rich meaning in art. By making art, students learn to explore their own ideas and experiences and express themselves visually.
