Next up is Scrabble. In 1933, Alfred Mosher Butts invented scrabble. A word game, the object of Scrabble is to score more points than one's opponent. A player collects points by placing words on the game board. Each letter has a different point value, so the strategy becomes to play words with high scoring letter combinations.
This made me think about the frequency of letters in the English language. The letter "E" is the most popular, with a frequency of approximately 12.7%. The second most popular letter is "T", with a frequency of nearly 9.3%. Together, these letters have a combined frequency of 22%. 22% is what as a fraction? What are some letters with the lowest frequency?
What is a unique and fun word that starts with the first letter of your first name...Example: Russ, rannygazoo (which means foolish nonsense)
World records to follow....snapping pencils, extinguishing candles with a hair whip...
Maybe even some pricing fun too.
