Monday, November 15th--
Happy Monday! I hope that you had an amazing weekend! As we start another week together, we will begin by celebrating National Raisin Bran Cereal Day. The recipe for today is Raisin Bran Cookies. Are you a fan? We will find out. We will also use this recipe to continue exploring fraction multiplication and division.
Monday means sports, so we will review the Patriots Box Score from Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Cleveland Browns by a score of 45-7 at home. Mac Jones had another great day, completing 19 of his 23 attempted passes...what percentage is this?
Speaking of sports, Julia “Hurricane” Hawkins recorded a time of 1:02:95, a record for women in the 105+ age category for a 100 meter run. 'It was wonderful to see so many family members and friends. But I wanted to do it in less than a minute,' the 105-year-old said after the race. She took up sprinting on turning 100. In 2017, she set the 100m world record for women aged over 100 with a time of 39:62. We will discuss.

Happy Tuesday! I hope that your week is going well. Today, we celebrate National Fast Food Day! To celebrate, we will check out a recipe for Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Bites as sold at Auntie Ann's....Are you a fan? Can you work with the recipe?
Speaking of fast food...let's talk Big Mac. First up, we will meet Donald Gorske, who has eaten over 32,000 Big Mac's...All I can say is WOW!
Next, Matt Stonie and Joey Chestnut will battle to see who can eat the most Big Mac's in one sitting...At 550 calories a piece, this is quite the challenge.

Happy Wednesday! I hope that you will make this another great day! Today, we celebrate National Baklava Day along with Homemade Bread Day. Baklava is a layered pastry dessert made of filo pastry, filled with chopped nuts, and sweetened with syrup or honey. To learn more, we will watch a quick recipe. Are you a fan? Happy Thursday! How is your week going? Today, we celebrate National Apple Cider Day. Did you know that it takes approximately 36 apples to make one gallon of apple cider? To celebrate this food related holiday, we will learn how to make New England Apple Cider Cake. Are you a fan? We will find out.
Today is also Mickey Mouse Day as we celebrate the birthday of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Mickey Mouse first appeared in the short film “Steamboat Willie” on November 18, 1928. Ever since then, fans all over the world have celebrated this day as his birthday. To celebrate, we will add to the classroom decor by learning how to draw Mickey Mouse....
