Prerequisites: Human Psychology and Sociology 1,2 OR AP Psychology is recommended.
This is a two-hour per day course that provides training for entry-level positions in preschool and early childhood education programs, and licensed family day care. Nine weeks of instruction covers early child development, child guidance techniques, and developmentally appropriate curriculum which includes teaching language, math, science, music, art, and motor development to young children. Off-campus training in community schools follows for 3 nine-week rotations (150 hours off-campus). Four high school credits will be earned for successful completion of this one year course.
