Landscape

The subject of this image is the rays of sun coming down through the clouds. I left the power line in this photo because it acts as a start point for the rays of sun. I took this photo from a hill overlooking a field. I set this photo up by leaning against an oak tree and setting my camera against it. I turned up the colors and turned the light down. I was walking my dog and I saw the rays of sunlight coming through the clouds so I ran inside and grabbed my camera. I set up on this hill because I like the field and because of the coloring in the trees at the bottom of the field and the framing from the barn, tree, and power line. I used selective focus on the tree, and divided the image into 5 sections using the exposed grass. I took a few images at Pine Land because I really like the landscape there but I didn't like the light so I wanted to take a few others. I took some from a little lower but the didn't turn out that great. I also took some from a different spot but they didn't have the same framing or depth. I grew up romping around that field and I have always enjoyed the sunlight and wanted to capture that. If I could change one thing it would be to remove the oil tank.
