Complimentary Colors

Watermelon

This image was taken in the Upper FPAC lobby. I didn't have an intended subject other than the lobby. I was simply sitting in the lobby and I liked the repetition of of the lights so I took a few photos. I believe the color on the ceiling was a result of the reflection off the purple poles. I set up the lights to have a leading line through repetition and I used the stairs as other leading lines. The railing also made lateral lines that break up the image better. I also used selective focus. I took this photo first and then took two others because I liked this one. When I took the others, the red and green lights switched. I liked the lateral division of the railing and having the red on top. I like the idea of complementary colors and green red is an especially interesting combination. This image has no story. Its only meaning to me is because of its colors. I have no special attachment to the FPAC. If I could change one thing about this image, I would get rid of the exit signs in the back.
