The central idea of this concentration is to document Electronic Waste and display a few of the ways it can be used. I wanted to show some of the beauty involved in what people so quickly identify as trash. I actually started out my concentration with demonstrating the uses of e-waste and then once I realized what I wanted my concentration to be I continued with photographing more of the circuit boards and other pieces of e-waste.

Many of these photographs were taken during the same shoot. I was feeling inspired to take some photos so I grabbed my camera and a tripod and took photos of things sitting on my desk. I did my best to avoid flares from my desk light which was positioned at a bad angle so I had to work with my cameras placement a little bit. The repurpose photos were from other shoots when I wanted to play around with the MOT and the LCD screen.

I was having fun playing with the filters on Photos and I realized I really liked Process and Chrome most of the photos were edited using those and then further changing of the exposure and color. I liked using the filters to make hot and cold photos with orange/red and blue/green.

Most of these photos use macro techniques. I even used a magnifying lens to zoom in on the circuits. I also used a lot of lines, both leading and circular which I always feel draw good attention to the photo and divide it up nicely.

I didn't actively overexert myself in choosing this concentration or the photos but I really like how it turned out. I didn't put them in any particular order because they were mostly taken at the end of the quarter. I demonstrated my adaptability by taking something that I am passionate about and realizing that I had already been using the idea for my subject and adding to this idea to create a concentration out of it.
