Color

Art Statement:

I painted both pictures with acrylic paint.

In the first picture are two different kind of colors. The first stripe is a primary color and the second is a secondary color. That means that I mixed blue and red to get purple. I mixed white or black to the colors to get the different shades.

In the second painting are 84 different shades of colors. I started with the background and tried to paint the colors of a sunset. That is why all the colors in the background are analogous. Then I painted the horse. It was interesting how difficult the darker colors are. It was way easier to mix and paint the light colors.

It was really fun to paint the real part of the horse. That means the head and the front legs. It was fun because you can "play" more with the colors. I mean for that part of the horse I didn't had to have a specific color.

To me, it looks like the horse is almost trying to get away of the mosaic part or the horse just enjoys being different.
