College Prep Scholarship for Juniors

The QuestBridge College Prep Scholarship provides outstanding low-income high school juniors with the essential know-how to be successful applicants to top colleges. Students selected as College Prep Scholars will receive awards that will help them prepare for the college admissions process.


Why apply?

The College Prep Scholarship provides opportunities that help qualified students become successful applicants to selective colleges. The awards include:

  • Invitations to the QuestBridge College Admissions Conferences at Northwestern, Yale, and Stanford.
  • Full scholarships to summer programs at leading colleges and universities.
  • Individualized college admissions counseling by QuestBridge staff or Quest Scholars.
  • All-expense-paid visits to college campuses.
  • College application advice from Amherst College students via tele mentoring.
  • Quest for Excellence Awards, such as the Fein Fellows Award, Native American Award, and many others.

Who should apply?

High school juniors with a strong academic record and an annual family income of less than $60,000. Many past College Prep Scholars have also been part of the first generation in their family to attend college.

Selection Criteria

1. Academic Achievement: GPA, class rank, course rigor, test scores, essays, teacher recommendation.

2. Financial Need: Household income, assets (including value of home), family size, and other financial circumstances.

3. Additional Criteria: Parents' level of education, extra-curricular achievements, extenuating circumstance.
