In this studio-based class, students will learn traditional techniques for working with clay. Students will develop an understanding of quality design and construction practices, explore and deepen creativity, and learn how other artists and cultures work, or have worked with clay. Building techniques such as pinch pot, coil and slab construction will be explored as well as an introduction to the potter’s wheel. All projects will include an exploration of decorating and glazing techniques. All absences must be made up with equal time spent in the studio.
