First Day in the Office

2) Meet your coworkers
First Week of Work
One of your first tasks should be to complete your
required trainings and acknowledgements.
Please designate time to complete your acknowledgements.
You will receive digital new hire paperwork through HCM's as part of your onboarding from Human Resources.
This will include the Loyalty Oath, tax forms, and the Invitation to Self-Identify.
Please make sure to complete these by the deadline indicated by Human Resources.
Instructions for completing the digital paperwork in the HCM tile can be found here.
Your first day of work will be spent at orientation, Rio Wave Day 1.
You will meet speakers from departments all around the college and connect with new employees beginning with you.

When orientation ends on Day 1, email your supervisor to let them know.
Many new employees set up appointments with their supervisors at the end of Day 1 or on their first day in the office.
Your supervisor will work with you as you settle into your department and your new role.
They will also go over performance expectations and discuss your probationary period (if applicable).
If you are attending Rio Wave, a team member from Employee Services will take your photo for your employee badge at the beginning of orientation.
If you are a transfer employee or need an updated employee badge and/or access, please submit the employee badge and access dynamic form.
Log into the Employee Learn Center with your MEID and MEID password. Click on the "My Training" tile.
Click on "My Learning Plans", and you will see the mandatory training courses you will need to complete during your first week.
To learn more about mandatory training & acknowledgement courses, visit ELC Training Courses.
Take an opportunity to introduce yourself to those who work in your department.
You may be able to do so in a department meeting, or by sending a quick introduction email.
Your colleagues will be a great resource as you become familiar with your position and Rio Salado as a whole.
Assess your needs for office supplies, including business cards and stationary.
Partner with your supervisor to ensure that your department has funds to purchase business cards, and visit MCCCD's Stationary Order Site to order.
