You are both a Rio Salado College Employee and an MCCCD Employee.
There are 10 colleges in the district and the District Office itself, which is located next to Rio Salado College Tempe Tower building. Click on Structural Overview to learn more.
Your paycheck will come from the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD). Some services, such as payroll, will also be offered through the District.
You will utilize applications on both the Rio Salado College Employee Portal and the MCCCD Employee Portals.
You will also receive announcements from both Rio Salado College and the District office, including weekly newsletters (The Wave and The Maricopan).

As a new employee, you will be invited to the Rio Wave New Employee Orientation.
In addition, to make the most out of your 1st Year Experience and provide you with additional support, there will be a series of extended trainings available at the 3 month, 6 month, and 12 month check-in points.
All new employees should review the New Employee Steps page to ensure they are completing all necessary tasks.
This includes tasks like the required trainings & acknowledgements and tips for settling into their new role and meeting coworkers.
If you are serving in a supervisory role, there are additional New Supervisor Steps in addition to the New Employee Steps to ensure you have the necessarily tools to support and empower the employees you supervise.
With helpful checklists for before a new employee starts and after a new employee starts, supervisors can ensure they are doing their part to ensure their new employees feel welcome and supported.
The Rio Wave New Employee Orientation consists of learning, short activities, and meeting others.
Rio Wave Day 1 is a full-day orientation on the employees first day to help with transitioning into the new position.
The Employee Learn Center houses employee training classes and acknowledgements that are required for MCCCD employees.
