Fifth grade has become matter experts! Today we enjoyed making three formulas of a precipitate “GLUBBER”… a borax, glue, and water solution. We discussed chemical change and chemical change indicators…we learned about a precipitate…a new solid that forms when two liquids are mixed together. Students followed the scientific method by making predictions, conducting an experiment, observing and recording data, testing results, and making conclusions. After preparing the three formulas of our precipitate glubber, we enjoyed conducting a “product test” with different activities!...the stretch test, bounce test, imprint, shape retention, and print transfer…messy!.. but oh so much fun!
