Things to Do Before Placement:
Please email your supervisor to introduce yourself and confirm your days & hours
Your supervisor will be in touch with you via phone call to get to know you a bit before we meet you in person.
Have a think about what your goals are for this placement experience. Please fill in this form so that we can get to know you a little better and create a placement experience that will suit you as best as possible. FORM
We recommend reviewing content for common health conditions and considering how to explain their aetiology and the role of exercise in their care (e.g. Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis). Occupational Therapists may address fatigue management, assistive technology, developmental stages, and fine motor skill exercises to support function and quality of life. We don't expect your explanations or understanding to be perfect — we’re happy to chat further and provide more guidance when you start here.
Let us know what you want to learn while you are here! FORM
During Placement:
What to expect from us:
Your supervisor and all of the employees at Rebound Health will give you feedback while you are on placement here. This is to help you learn as much as possible while you are with us. We recommend taking a moment to think about how you like to receive feedback: do you like direct feedback, do you like it to be delivered alongside something we think you are doing well? Your supervisor will speak with you about this on your first day
Your supervisor is here to make sure you feel supported in new or challenging tasks, and give you the space to practice your clinical and practical skills
We are here to answer questions and have discussions with you about topics of interest.
What we expect from you:
Please arrive to the placement 15 minutes early each day
We encourage you to maintain a growth mindset. This involves focusing on what improvements you can make in the future rather than ruminating on mistakes or experiences. We will work hard to support this during your placement. This involves focusing on changes and improvements you can make moving forward, rather than ruminating on mistakes. Placement is the time to ask all the questions.
Open-minded - we encourage you to remain open-minded to new information and new ways of exploring concepts.
Ask us questions (ask your supervisor when would be the best time to ask questions)
Clinical notes
We use a program called Splose to write clinical notes, store client information as well as book and reschedule appointments.
You will be shown how to use this very early on in your placement.
Ensure client confidentiality is maintained.
