Star Assessments are Quincy School District's K-12, districtwide formative assessments. Star tests are short tests that provide teachers with learning data. Star tests are computer adaptive, which means they adjust to each answer a student provides. This helps teachers get the best data in the shortest amount of testing time (about one-third of the time other tests take). Use the Renaissance STAR Assessment Reporting tool to:
Create detailed, customizable reports on Star Assessment data
View data by Grade Equivalent, Percentile Rank, etc
Disaggregate data by content strand, race, gender, or program
Historical and trend data available
The following STAR Assessments are administered three times per year, according to the QSD Assessment Calendar, available on the Teaching and Learning SharePoint.
STAR Early Literacy (Gr K-1 All Students, Gr2-3 As Needed)
STAR Reading (Gr2-10)
STAR Math (Gr 2-10, QMS Fall/Spring Only)
Audio will be enabled for ALL students on STAR Math assessments.
Extended time limits are allowed for ALL students on all STAR assessments.
In Renaissance STAR, data can be viewed with a variety of Scales and Benchmark Types. The default settings that are used in Quincy School District are the Star Enterprise Scale, State Benchmark. This is also the data that is pulled through to Homeroom.
In addition, at times, buildings and teachers may want to use the Star Enterprise Scale, District Benchmark, for some types of intervention or small group planning when comparing students within the building or class.
From the Renaissance STAR Homepage, click Reports. Then choose Star / Assessment or Administrator categories. See the options below for the most popular reports in each category:
