Beginning August 2025 and onward, this document is the support and purchase standard for all technology in a standard classroom for the Quincy School District #144. Any deviation of standard must be met with helpdesk ticket and Technology Department approval.

Workstation Placement:

A teacher workstation must be no farther than 7 feet from a classroom outlet and ethernet port.

Staff Desk and Furniture:

If you have a request regarding items that physically supports technology, this is not a Technology department request as it falls under furniture. Please submit a work order for installation, move, or support for these items.

Examples of items not supported by Technology:

·        Desks

·        Monitor Mounts

·        Stand up Desks

Cable Management:

Cable management must be set up within a reasonable time & ability with every classroom set up.

If cable management is not satisfactory, you may request the following via HelpDesk Ticket.

·        Cable Loom

·        Velcro Strips

·        Walkway Cable covering

Non-Standard Support Procedure:

·        Submit Helpdesk Ticket – Request quote for unique device/cable.

·        Purchase device/cable via classroom, department, or building budget.

·        Technology will support this request onward with the following:

o   Receiving item.

o   Adding devices to Inventory.

o   Open Ticket for installation timeline.

o   Install item in classroom.

o   Maintain proper function.

*** If devices purchased outside of a Technology provided quote or supported brands. Device will not be inventoried, installed, repaired, supported, or maintained. ***

New Hire Laptop

A newly hired teacher will receive the following. This asset will stay on their person, if the teacher moves classroom, this will move classroom with them.
