Searching assessments in Homeroom enables staff to access all the data stored on Homeroom, regardless of if it is displayed on the dashboard. The trick is knowing the naming norms for each assessment and applying them carefully. Pay careful attention to exact spelling, and spacing, in the norms--these details will derail a search.Â
The Naming norms for common assessments are:
SBA: SBA Summative Gr # (Math, ELA)
add Claim to narrow the search further
STAR: STAR Unified Bmark Gr # (Reading, Math, Early Literacy) (Season)
i-Ready: i-Ready Gr # Math
add Overall or Percentile to narrow the search further
WIDA: WIDA Gr # -- Results from WIDA ACCESS just say WIDA, NOT Alt ACCESS
Add Overall or Domain to narrow search further
SRSS-IE: SRSS Gr# Season (Internal, External)
Note: the name of each assessment is SRSS not SRSS-IE
Classroom-Based Assessments: (Curriculum or Subject) Gr# (Test Window: M1, U1, Q1, Fall, etc) (Other Descriptor, if Needed)
Note: for more information and examples, see more detailed naming conventions at the bottom of this page.
Other Notes about Naming Norms:
On some assessments that have been used for many years, benchmarks or norms may have changed over time. This is designated in Homeroom by labeling the final year that the assessment settings were utilized. (See image)
Up to date versions of the assessments will not be labeled with a year in their name.
