+/- = Volume Buttons
Hand = turns off touch
Three Lines = adjust settings like brightness
Arrow = input source - opens Source menu (see image). These are the most commonly used inputs:

OS - Promethean Operating System
The power button on the back of the Promethean, as shown in this picture, is sometimes referred to as the "rocker". It is helpful to toggle the rocker when the system needs to be reset for troubleshooting. Staff do not need to power off the "Rocker" daily.
Some Prometheans have a silver box located on the back of the Promethean, sometimes called a "brain box". It is helpful to unplug & power off this "brain box" when the system needs to be reset for troubleshooting. Staff do not need to unplug the brain box on a daily basis.
The Quick Launcher provides quick access to your favorite apps. See the video below for how to add apps to the quick launcher. Here are some of our staff's favorite apps to include:
HDMI In Shortcut - a quick way to toggle between your computer display and the Promethean home screen. This shortcut also allows you to use the tools from the Promethean Pink Button over your computer screen. (only available on newer Prometheans which are connected to your workstation via HDMI)
Screen Share - for mirroring the screen of other devices:
Chromebooks & Chrome Browser - use Promethean Screen Share Chrome Extension (already installed)
Smart Phones - download MyPromethean mobile app

Keep open browser tabs to a minimum
Close all apps before lunch & end of day (swipe up > click on square)
Clear Manager weekly (click waffle > green rocket ship & cache cleaner)
Close high power apps immediately (like Google Earth)
Check for updates after any major school break (Click on Pink Menu Button > Settings > Updates)
Hard Shut Down: unplug brain box and/or toggle the "rocker" (see directions above)
Close all apps (swipe up > click on square)
Clear Manager (click waffle > green rocketship & cache cleaner)

Wall-Mounted Prometheans: check to make sure the wireless is OFF, then toggle the Ethernet option on/off
Cart-Mounted Prometheans: make sure wireless is ON and Ethernet is OFF. Once wireless is on, make sure the Promethean is connected to the network QSDInternet, not any other network name.
If connected to the Promethean with your computer & you want the sound to go through the ceiling speakers, make sure your Playback Devices options on your computer is set to the Promethean.
make sure nothing is attached or touching the Promethean (on or near screen)
if using the computer display, make sure it is on "Duplicate" not "Extend"
if you have two monitors, make sure the main (primary) display is duplicating to the Promethean
DO NOT USE WINDEX!
Wipes off easily with a dry rag or water
make sure you're on the right input (typically HDMI 2 for Computers)
make sure you're logged into your computer
hit Windows+P from your computer, then try down arrow + enter. If that doesn't work, try hitting the up arrow 2x + enter (see video)
