Google Classroom is students' digital home base and the homepage on all district Chromebooks. From Google Classroom, students can access links to join their class on Google Meet, read and respond to messages from teachers and classmates, interact with assignments and view feedback from teachers.
Add supervisors, specialists, office staff and paras to Google Classroom, as appropriate for your class.
K-1: Post a video or message on the Stream directing students and families on how to find and use Clever and other Apps for learning.
2-3: Students begin to practice finding some class materials and assignments on Google Classroom Stream or Classwork Tab.
4-5: Students regularly find and submit assignments through Classwork tab to prepare for daily use at QMS.
6-12: Upload all assignments to Google Classroom, preferably with instructions. Scoring is optional, official scores will be posted weekly in Skyward.
Include instructions on how to navigate your Google Classroom.
Rename each Google Classroom to follow these norms as shown in the picture:
Class Name: Teacher - Subject
Section: Period & Term*
*if you plan to use the same Google Classroom all year long, label the term as "All Year", then archive the extra classroom that is automatically created at the semester.
Tips for the Class Stream:
Turn off assignment notifications in your Stream in Google Classroom Settings. This is recommended! It will force students to get their work from the "classwork" tab, and assignments won't get lost by students who think they only need to look in the Stream.
