Trade Training for Students in Alternate Course Programming
· Students could complete Alternate Programming to receive a High School Certificate (this does not meet the requirements for SK Polytechnic Pre-employment Programs) and work in the trades but are not eligible to receive Journeyperson certification unless they challenge the Journeyperson exam. They can work in the trades without completing Journeyperson certification.
· Students could complete Alternate Programming to receive a High School Certificate and then write the Canadian Adult Education Credential Exams (CAEC). If they successfully complete the CAEC, they can then apply to post-secondary pre-employment programs at SK Polytechnic.
