SK Polytechnic Engineering Technology Programs
“Engineering technology is the practical application of science and engineering to a wide range of real-world problems.”
The differences between engineering and engineering technology are not always obvious. There is a great deal of overlap between the two fields of study. Both types of engineering programs have a strong emphasis on math and science, especially physics and calculus. While topics of core classes in both programs seem similar, engineering technology classes will emphasize the application of engineering techniques, and the engineering courses will focus on the development of concepts.
Graduates of engineering technology and engineering programs complement each other in skills and interests. Technologists work with technicians, engineers and scientists to form technological teams that produce an ever-increasing rate of technological advancement.
